Have you bought an electric vehicle (EV) yet? If not, how come?

For many, the reason is the sector’s charging infrastructure — or lack thereof. Charging stations are still few and far between. And plug-in charging as a whole is merely a stopgap solution.

That’s why HEVO has created an alternative solution. This company is making EV charging as simple as parking your car.

It’s created a patented wireless-charging system for EVs that eliminates the need for cables and plugs. Its system includes vehicle-mounted receivers and grid-connected charging pads that work together to transfer power wirelessly with efficiency comparable to traditional plug-in charging.

Already selected by major global automakers for integration into multiple vehicles, HEVO’s technology is certified to meet both UL safety standards and SAE interoperability standards, ensuring universal compatibility across vehicle brands.

Plug-in charging is plagued by problems. There are different charging configurations which can leave drivers unsure of what system to use. And finding charging stations on the road isn’t easy. They’re scattered, incompatible with their specific car, or are often broken or damaged.

Plug-in charging stations are also exposed to the elements. And many times, they’re subject to vandalism or theft. These problems are why HEVO created its wireless charging system.

HEVO’s system is cost-competitive. It costs about the same as plug-in charging and is up to ninety-percent cheaper than wireless-charging competitors. It’s also efficient — it features up to ninety-three-percent grid-to-battery efficiency, matching plug-in systems. And it’s all offered with cables, plugs, or manual connections.

Notably, HEVO’s system is applicable for autonomous vehicles, too, offering hands-free wireless charging. It can even be used as a home generator during power outages.

HEVO has been issued seventeen patents. And its system received best-in-class certifications. It also won the PACEpilot award in 2022, the industry’s most prestigious innovation award.

HEVO has partnered with Stellantis to develop wireless-charging products that integrate with this company’s EVs. And it’s raised more than thirteen million dollars to-date.

HEVO is backed by auto-focused investors Ulu Ventures, VoLo Earth Ventures, and the Dream Fund. And its team boasts multiple exits in the EV space, as well as leadership experience at Rivian, Tesla, BMW, Ford, and General Motors.
