The Marijuana industry.
Marijuana is already a $7 billion sector in the U.S., and it’s soon expected to reach $500 billion globally.
Whatever your opinion is about the drug itself, $500 billion is a whole lot of green.
In fact, cannabis is one of the most exciting — and potentially profitable — investment sectors we’ve ever seen.
Normally, I’d write to tell you about the start-ups I’m meeting with, and I’d give you some advice about how to tell a good marijuana investment from a bad one.
But since California isn’t just America’s cannabis capital — it’s also its movie capital — I’m going to do something a little different today…
I’m going to reveal the Top-10 “marijuana horror movies.”
A Data-Driven Movie List
Why did I decide to focus on horror movies?
Because it’s Halloween next week!
But before I reveal the list, first let me tell you how I came up with it:
First I scoured dozens of sites across the Internet — some listed the most popular horror movies, others listed the best movies to watch while smoking marijuana.
Then I cross-checked that data against sites like IMDb.com and RottenTomatoes.com.
As you can see, data isn’t just useful for hardcore financial analyses…
It’s also useful for more entertaining exercises, too!
Top-10 “Marijuana Horror Movies”
The Trip (1967)Written by Jack Nicholson, and starring Peter Fonda and Bruce Dern, this movie has been called “unsettling,” “bizarre” and “trippy.” It features witches, a torture chamber, kaleidoscopic patterns, and more.
Deathgasm (2015)In this New Zealand-made horror-comedy, “teenage wannabe metal stars accidentally summon a demonic force.” The evil force takes over their small, conservative town with gory and hilarious results.
I Am a Ghost (2012)If you’re looking for a horror flick that comes with a big dose of philosophy, this is the one. This atmospheric film tells the story of a ghost coming to terms with her own death.
Idle Hands (1999)Outrageous and hilarious, experts seem to agree that this is perhaps the ultimate stoner movie. It focuses on a pot-loving teen whose right hand becomes possessed with an evil spirit.
The Shining (1980)If you haven’t seen this classic yet, the time has come. Directed by Stanley Kubrick, and based on Stephen King’s book of the same name, this film is known for its amazing cinematography and terrifying visuals.
Hush (2016)This is a “home invasion” horror pic — but it has a twist: the protagonist is deaf and mute. Experts agree that this twist adds a layer of suspense that will have you “constantly checking the locks on your windows and doors.”
Halloween (1978)Another classic! In this fright-fest, an escaped lunatic slashes and stabs the inhabitants of his hometown. Then he hunts down a woman (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) desperately trying to keep herself and the kids she’s babysitting alive.
Suspiria (1977)Experts say this one “isn’t just one of the best horror movies to watch when you’re stoned. It’s one of the best horror movies period.” This twisted tale of a ballet boarding school gone wrong is deranged and visually stunning.
House (1977)This is a “trippy” 70s horror classic that’s weird and frightful. In one scene, girls get eaten by pianos. In another scene, a girl's decapitated head flies around while it laughs insanely. Sounds like some good stuff.
Eraserhead (1977)This was David Lynch's directorial debut. In the film, the protagonist learns that his girlfriend just gave birth to their son after a month-long pregnancy. Weirdness abounds as they deal with the apocalyptic wasteland they find themselves in.
